USA - A woman has full rights to her womb and should not be held responsible for the wellbeing of an aborted fetus outside of it. With the present kerfuffle concerning the Supreme Court’s rejection of Roe v Wade, it might be a good time to consider the philosophical case for and against abortion. Which is correct: The pro-choice view or the pro-life position? Neither. The only tenable stance is a compromise between the two of them, called evictionism.

USA - The historic US emergency oil reserves release aimed at lowering domestic fuel prices led to more than 5 million barrels of oil being exported to Europe and Asia last month, despite record-high gas and diesel prices. The news of the export to other nations was reported by Reuters a week ago and raised concern over the continued mismanagement of resources by the Biden Administration. Oil exports from the US to reach an all-time high of 3.3m b/d in the current quarter as refinery disruptions and Strategic Petroleum Reserve releases increase available supplies, Rystad Energy says. The export of crude and fuel hinders the impact of the moves by Biden, who claimed the release of the strategic reserves would lead to lower prices at the pump. US crude inventories are now at the lowest since 2004. Refineries in the US Gulf coast were at 97.9% utilization before the release of the reserves.

USA - There are pros and cons with electric vehicles, not the least of which is the higher cost of purchase in a crumbling Biden economy. But with gas prices skyrocketing, many Americans are turning to them to save at the pump. But are they really saving money, especially in high-density cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco? As the old saying goes, time is money. It takes 40+ minutes to charge a Tesla using a Supercharging station. That’s far worse than the four or five minutes it takes to fill up a gas tank. All things being equal, this might still be a worthwhile tradeoff, but there’s one major problem that California residents are quickly learning. When there aren’t enough charging stations available, you’re not just waiting 40+ minutes. You’re waiting for the people ahead of you who are also taking 40+ minutes for their vehicles. Add more cars and it will be a 24 hour wait! This is what Gavin Newsom, Joe Biden, and the vast majority of Democrats want for us. Imagine what it will look like as more people buy electric cars and outpace installation of charging stations. This is a disaster now and it’s likely to get much worse.

USA - Too many Americans are blithely dismissing threats that could prove cataclysmic. Even as we watch the reservoirs and lakes of the West go dry, we keep watering our lawns, soaking our golf courses, and growing water-thirsty crops. As inflation mounts and the national debt balloons, progressive politicians vote for ever more spending. As the ice caps melt and record temperatures make the evening news, we figure that buying a Prius and recycling the boxes from our daily Amazon deliveries will suffice. When TV news outlets broadcast video after video of people illegally crossing the nation’s southern border, many of us change the channel.

USA - The Biden regime, together with its allies in the World Economic Forum and the Chinese Communist Party, consider those natural rights, not unalienable endowed by the Creator, but as privileges dispensed or withdrawn according to the convenience of the state. Call it globalism, communism or neo-Feudalism, the intent is the same, to establish a world government by an international ruling class, who exploit the land for personal profit and rule over billions of people without liberty or property. Once elected, members of Congress serve only their own interests, and that of their party and its wealthy donors. Petitioning Congress for the redress of grievances is an exercise in futility. Now that our elections have proven to be a sham and our political system has been shown to be hopelessly corrupt, Americans who believe in the Constitution and the rule of law must choose either to resist or to submit to a one-party totalitarian state. The United States is no longer a functioning constitutional republic.

UK - Former punk star Feargal Sharkey has issued an urgent warning as the UK capital faces the imminent risk of becoming one of the most water-stressed cities in the world. The singer, most widely known for being a vocalist for The Undertones, warned of the increasing risks of water shortages brought about by a burgeoning population and “over-abstraction” of chalk streams. Over abstraction is the process where the amount of water harvested from a river is greater than the amount of rainfall it receives, leading to plummeting water levels in a river. In a 2017 report by the London Resilience Forum and Thames Water, the authors wrote that drought has become a "real and present threat to the capital”. Meanwhile, a more recent 2020 report from the National Audit Office warned that "if more concerted action is not taken now, parts of the south and south-east of England will run out of water within the next 20 years".

GERMANY - Top German industries could face collapse because of cuts in the supplies of Russian natural gas, the country’s top union official warned before crisis talks with Chancellor Olaf Scholz starting Monday. “Because of the gas bottlenecks, entire industries are in danger of permanently collapsing: aluminum, glass, the chemical industry,” said Yasmin Fahimi, the head of the German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB), in an interview with the newspaper Bild am Sonntag. “Such a collapse would have massive consequences for the entire economy and jobs in Germany.”

USA - Milton Friedman thought that a computer would do a better job than the Fed’s employees and stated that, “Central bankers always try to avoid their last big mistake. So, every time there’s the threat of a contraction in the economy, they’ll over stimulate the economy, by printing too much money. The result will be a rising roller coaster of inflation, with each high and low being higher than the preceding one.” Obviously, Ms Yellen had forgotten these words when she confidentially asserted that I don’t believe the next financial crisis will be “in our lifetime.” Instead, she created the highest inflation rate since the seventies. When I look at the decline in the quality of central bankers and also of western governments over the last 20 years or so, I am reminded of the words of Arthur Koestler “If one looks with a cold eye at the mess man has made of history, it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that he has been afflicted by some built-in mental disorder which drives him towards self-destruction.”

USA - The Fed is once again lying to Americans about the risks they face. The big lie of 2021 was that inflation was non-existent or “transitory.” We all know how that turned out. Inflation is at a 40-year high, gas is over $5 a gallon, and Americans have never spent more of their incomes on gas and food. Now the Fed is back with another big lie. It’s the big lie of 2022: that the US won’t enter a recession. For most Americans, the economy has been in recession for months. The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) released a trove of data yesterday with its highly massaged GDP results. And BOY did it have some worrying stuff in it. Most worrying of all was the following: Real Disposable Personal Income collapsed an incredible 12% in the first quarter of 2022. Even more incredibly, it has fallen in THREE of the last four quarters. Unfortunately, it’s even worse than that. The collapse in Real Disposable Personal Incomes is larger than that which occurred during the 2008 recession. This is why inflation is so devastating… because it destroys Americans’ pocketbooks. It’s also why every time inflation rises above 5%, a recession hits. So again, the Fed is LYING about the recession, just like it lied about inflation in 2021.

USA - Seattle police arrested a street preacher on charges of being a risk to public safety for reading his Bible aloud at a public park near an LGBT pride event. Matthew Meinecke, who identifies himself as The Seattle Preacher on Twitter, was surrounded by Seattle police officers as he was reading his Bible and was subsequently arrested and fingerprinted at a police station before being released. “SPD has enough resources to send 10 police officers to arrest a preacher reading his Bible in a public park. Because it's such a horrible crime now!” Meinecke wrote on Twitter, posting a video showing his arrest. “So at this point, we can no longer stand by. The risk that you pose for public safety by remaining here can be mitigated if you leave. It’s your last chance,” a police officer can be heard saying. The preacher told the officers, “I don’t want to leave because I’m not in danger.” “I was at the Seattle Center, reading the Bible, not aggressively preaching, not stirring people up, not anything. People throwing things. People vandalizing our property. I think about 10 police officers showed up," the pastor told journalist Jonathan Choe with the Discovery Institute.

RUSSIA - Russia has a long history of using the cold to defeat Europe. The winter of 1812 arrested Napoleon’s special military operation. Hitler’s troops hit the deep-freeze outside the gates of Moscow in December 1941. Now Vladimir Putin has the option to turn off the gas sent to Europe – a strategy against which Germany appears to have no defence.

USA - Money is driving far too many things in the dystopian society forming around us. This isn't a knock on capitalism. It's about stopping those harming others for the sake of profit. The inputs used to make cell-cultured “meat,” which can hardly be called meat at all, are so unknown in terms of their effects on the human body that it truly is a crime against humanity for the stuff to be gradually making its way into the food supply.

USA - Almost half of Americans feel like strangers in their own country, a new opinion poll has revealed. It also claims that the majority of people consider their government as a corrupt institution working against them, with more than a quarter saying it may be necessary to take up arms. Most people in the US see the government as rigged against them and a quarter mull pushing back with violence, a poll shows. The statement that “it may be necessary at some point soon for citizens to take up arms against the government” was supported by 28% of Americans, including 38% of conservatives, 36% of Republicans, 35% of Independents, and 37% of those who have guns in their homes. Even among self-described soft Democrats, 19% said armed resistance may be necessary.

USA - While doing research for a column meant to remind the American people of that date’s critical importance, he came across example after example of those from the Left and the Far-Left – be they in the mainstream media, activists, or anarchists – calling for not only the “canceling” of the 4th of July, but the continued smearing, censorship, and canceling of our Founding Fathers.
