GERMANY - Germany’s government announced plans to impose tighter controls at all of the country’s land borders in what it called an attempt to tackle irregular migration and protect the public from threats such as Islamist extremism. The controls within what is normally a wide area of free movement – the European Schengen zone – will start on September 16 and initially last for six months, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said on Monday. The government has also designed a scheme enabling authorities to reject more migrants directly at German borders, Faeser said, without adding details on the controversial and legally fraught move. The restrictions are part of a series of measures Germany has taken to toughen its stance on irregular migration in recent years following a surge in arrivals, in particular people fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East. Recent deadly knife attacks in which the suspects were asylum seekers have stoked concerns over immigration.

GERMANY - With the recent AfD victory in Thuringia and strong showing in Saxony, the German Globalist mainstream parties are in a panic, scrambling to counter the relentless surging of the rightwing forces in the country. And it’s not like they don’t know what’s wrong with their policies and in what way they differ from what the population really wants – they are just not prepared to abandon the Brussels line in favor of some common sense for a change. But they now have to at least pretend to do it, to try and stop AfD from growing before it’s too late. This comes after an Islamist terrorist stabbed and killed three people, injuring eight more.

GERMANY - The German establishment is desperately clinging to power in defiance of democracy. Like in France, there is an open and crude effort to deny voters their democratic choice. Over in Saxony, the CDU barely squeaked out a win against the AfD, with results currently showing them both at 31%. There, again, the governing establishment Social Democrats were clobbered, coming in at just 7.5% support. The anti-establishment left split the vote between Bundestag parliamentarian Sahra Wagenknecht’s brand new BSW coalition (15.6% in Thuringia and 11.5% in Saxony) and Die Linkie, whose collective success suggests that the vote was more about a rejection of the establishment on all sides and only secondarily a right/left ideological one – just like in France. The idea of electoral losers adamantly working to deny voters their democratic choice seems to be a new trend in Europe as the populist right- and left-wing parties start racking up electoral wins.

USA - The city of Springfield, Ohio - population 60,000, has been overwhelmed by roughly 20,000 Haitian illegal migrants, who flocked to the city - exacerbating a 'significant housing crisis' according to city officials, and eating pets and wildlife according to locals. Another local told the city that she "can't take it anymore," as Haitian migrants are littering on her yard and harassing she and her husband. Resident Glenda Bailey told the city "They have become the occupiers. What they've done is they've replaced the population in Springfield." In July, city manager Bryan Heck wrote to leaders of the Senate Banking Committee asking for more federal funding. "Springfield has seen a surge in population through immigration that has significantly impacted our ability as a community to produce enough housing opportunities for all," he wrote.

But even though “the Summit of the Future” is just days away, hardly anyone is talking about it and the mainstream media is almost entirely ignoring it. Enormous decisions that could dramatically affect the future of everyone on the entire planet are about to be made, and just about the entire population has absolutely no idea what is going on.

INDONESIA - Pope Francis is embarking upon a 12-day trip through four nations in Southeast Asia and Oceania. His intent with the voyage is to pledge the Catholic Church will combat religious violence while inspiring stronger ties to other religions. On Thursday, the Associated Press reported the Pope made his first stop in Jakarta, Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world. A notable moment came when the Pope — in a wheelchair — appeared next to Indonesia’s grand imam, Nasaruddin Umar, at the entrance to the “Tunnel of Friendship” which connects Istiqlal Mosque to the nearby Catholic Cathedral, Our Lady of the Assumption. It was here that the Pope received a kiss on the head from the Imam while kissing his hand in response.

The Tren de Aragua, one of Venezuela’s most dangerous gangs, has reportedly established a foothold in key neighborhoods across Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Williamsburg, with an estimated 400 members currently residing in those areas.

But the chance at the chancellery Merz has been dreaming of since the 1990s has hit turbulence stemming from the country’s inescapable 20th-century history.

UK - Domestic abuse survivors are facing 'sleepless nights' ahead of Labour's mass prisoner release next week, a government advisor has warned and said victims are 'paying the price' for the UK's overcrowded jails. The government's early-release scheme will see prisoners automatically freed after serving between 40 to 45 per cent of their prison time as ministers attempt to tackle the overcrowding crisis in UK prisons. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer previously told the BBC no high-risk prisoners will be released, but confessed the risk could not be entirely quashed. He added on Sunday: 'We are doing everything we can to make sure that high-risk and domestic abusers, domestic violence cases are not released.'

SWITZERLAND - The WEF gleefully posted the following snippet to the “My Carbon” page of its website where they make a pitch for so-called smart cities, which is just another term for 15-minute cities. The first of three “developments” that the WEF says must be in place before the world can evolve into its utopian vision of “smart and sustainable cities,” is compliance with restrictions on our freedom. USA - Hurricane forecasters are bewitched, bothered, and bewildered. The Atlantic hurricane season was supposed to be epic. Instead, it's turned into a real dud. Huge storms wreaking havoc on coastlines from Aruba to Long Island were supposed to line up in the Eastern Atlantic in June and hit us one at a time until late September. The damage was going to be historic and the TV coverage was going to give climate change fanatics plenty of air time to vent that "this is just a foretaste" of what's to come. But something puzzling occurred on the way to hurricane Armageddon: not much has happened. The Atlantic Ocean has seen five named storms: two tropical storms, two hurricanes and one major hurricane this season. That hasn't stopped scientists from warning that things could always get worse.

UK - Almost two million children - one in five - are struggling with speech and language problems - a rise of more than a quarter since Covid lockdown measures were introduced. The increase - 200,000 each year since 2021 - is being blamed on the ongoing impact of lockdown measures which led to widespread mask wearing and reduced socialisation. Experts say the cost of living crisis is compounding the problem with children less likely to have new experiences needed to help them learn new words. The figures come as educational experts express fears for ‘lockdown babies’ at risk of social and emotional difficulties as they start school this month. She added: “If you are struggling to talk, it is hard to make friends. This affects your mental health and this can have a lasting impact on your academic success and employment prospects that can last for decades.”
