Young people are hiding behind issues they don’t have

UK - The ‘old-fashioned’ teacher has been appointed head of Caldicot Comprehensive and has adopted a zero tolerance approach to lay down the law. The sight of a parent standing their ground in a school reception – shouting, threatening, filming with their phone, refusing to leave until they see the headteacher – has become an all too familiar scene in British schools. Latest figures show almost a third of headteachers have gone to the police over cases of parents abusing staff in the past year; 42 per cent have been forced to ban parents from stepping foot on the premises. Whatever is behind it, one headteacher in Wales suspects that parents need to be dealt with in exactly the same manner that more children ought to be – the old fashioned way, with “strict discipline and firm boundaries”.

BBC staff told not to be 'straight, white or male'

Senior managers from the BBC are paid more if they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) than those who are not, a new report has shown. Figures released in the corporation’s annual report show that LGBT, ethnic minority, disabled and female senior leaders earn more than those who are not from those backgrounds.

Trusting Germany With The Bomb?

GERMANY - Can Anything Ever Be Threatening Enough to Make Trusting Germany With The Bomb Worthwhile? Everyone asks can the European Union endure Russian expansionism, but nobody stops to ask whether Western civilisation can survive a nuclear armed Germany. With maximum respect to the German people themselves, the class of people who seem drawn to lead in your nation probably shouldn’t be entrusted with total power over others. On Thursday, Germany’s top news magazine Spiegel posed the question ‘Does Germany need the atomic bomb now?’. On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron again brought up the idea of a European nuclear shield with bombs forwarded to Germany. The man likely to be the next German chancellor wants to borrow a trillion Euros to boost the German military, and is repeatedly drawn into talking about nuclear weapons. He’s not the only one either.

Trump Considers Pulling 35,000 Troops Out Of Germany

USA - Donald Trump is considering pulling US troops from Germany and redeploying them to Eastern Europe, The Telegraph can reveal. Mr Trump is weighing up withdrawing some 35,000 active personnel out of Germany in a move that would further sour US-Europe relations. The US president, who has repeatedly warned that Europe must commit more to its defensive capabilities, is becoming increasingly frustrated that the continent is “pushing for war”, sources close to the administration said. Around 160,000 active-duty personnel are stationed outside of the United States, a vast quantity of whom are in Germany.

Trump planning major NATO shakeup

USA - The US could decide to only defend those NATO countries that actually meet the bloc’s spending requirements, four former and current officials have told NBC. The policy would mark a major departure from a core article of the military bloc, which states that an attack on any NATO member is to be treated as an attack on all. A similar principle would apply to joint military exercises and American overseas deployments, the report said. Washington could choose to prioritize drills with those NATO partners that meet the defense spending targets and also reposition its forces in Europe according to the same criteria.

IDF told to prepare for 'immediate' return to Gaza fighting

ISRAEL - Israel's political echelon, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has ordered the IDF to prepare for an "immediate" return to fighting in Gaza, KAN News reported on Friday evening. The Jerusalem Post reported earlier this week that Israeli officials estimated that if no agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas, Israel would return to fighting in Gaza in about a week and a half. “Hamas is currently rejecting [US Middle East envoy Steve] Witkoff’s proposal, so it is very difficult to make progress,” one official said.

Trump Leading ‘New World Order’ of Peace and Cooperation

SAUDI ARABIA - President Donald Trump is ushering in a new age of peace, stability and cooperation in the region, according to Hassan bin Youssef Yassin, a senior Saudi diplomat and advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who expressed strong support for the President’s efforts to create a “new world order” based on coexistence and cooperation, as he urged Arab nations to back his initiative as they did in the past. In an article published Tuesday in Arab News, Yassin argues that President Trump’s shift to diplomacy — particularly with global powers — offers an opportunity to resolve long-standing conflicts, including the Arab-Israeli dispute. The matter comes as President Trump begins his new term, proclaiming his desire to be a “peacemaker” on the world stage.

‘The Capital of Palestine in America’

USA - New Jersey’s first Islamic city: Muslim politicians seize power in Paterson, declare It ‘The Capital of Palestine in America,’ raise Islamic flags, and advance Sharia. A shocking transformation is unfolding in Paterson, New Jersey, where local officials are rapidly reshaping the city into an Islamic stronghold. Once a beacon of American industry and blue-collar resilience, Paterson has become a case study in how unchecked Islamic immigration, demographic shifts, and political pandering can erode a city’s original identity.

Is Britain entering its first 'atheist age'?

UK - For the first time in history, the UK has entered an 'atheist age' - with more atheists than people who believe in the existence of a god. Now, scientists think they know why people are turning their backs on religion. According to researchers from the University of Vienna, many people find spiritual practices boring. In their study, the researchers surveyed more than 1,200 adults about their experiences with five popular spiritual practices, including yoga, pilgrimages, and Catholic sermons. Figures from 2008 showed that 41.8 per cent of Britons believed in God while 35.2 per cent did not. Within a decade, by 2018, this had reversed, with 35.2 per cent believing and 42.9 per cent not believing.

Many Americans have forgotten that it was the US that helped overthrow the legitimate Ukrainian government in 2014, plunging the country into turmoil for years to come, Elon Musk has said. On Monday, Musk responded to a clip of US Senator Chris Murphy discussing Washington’s role during the 2013-2014 Maidan protests in Kiev which led to the ouster of then-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich.

Germany’s future coalition partners to relax debt rules to boost defence budget

GERMANY - The prospective partners in Germany’s next government have said they will seek to loosen rules on running up debt to allow for higher defence spending. They said they will also seek to set up a huge €500 billion ($533 billion) fund to finance spending on Germany’s infrastructure over the next 10 years. Centre-right election winner Friedrich Merz, who is trying to put together a coalition government with the centre-left Social Democrats of the outgoing chancellor, Olaf Scholz, said the two sides would propose exempting spending of more than 1% of gross domestic product on defence from rules that limit the government’s ability to borrow money.

Berlin has run out of weapons for Kiev

GERMANY - Germany has reached the limit of its capacity to supply weapons to Ukraine from its own Bundeswehr arsenals, according to Michael Stempfle, the official spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense. During a press briefing on Wednesday, Stempfle was asked about the further transfer of Patriot systems and other weapons from German arsenals to Ukraine. He stated that while Berlin has already delivered many systems to Ukraine, there is a “natural limit to this.” He emphasized that Berlin also needed to strengthen the nation’s own defense capabilities and make sure its European allies are “well positioned.” He said that the process of ensuring Germany’s own defenses was “running parallel to the Ukraine support.”

'Hamas not defeated, mission not over'

ISRAEL - The Israeli army’s new Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, was officially sworn into the position on 5 March, making a speech and vowing that the “mission” against Hamas has “not yet been completed.” The ceremony comes over one month after the resignation of his predecessor, Herzi Halevi, was announced. “The IDF has achieved impressive achievements on the battlefield. We won battles in Gaza and Lebanon; we struck far away in Yemen and Iran. Hamas received a heavy blow, but it has not yet been defeated. The mission has not yet been completed,” Zamir said in his speech.
